The C Compiler Cl.exe Is Not Able To Compile A Simple Test Program

I was getting exactly the same error as David Doria, and I had to install a service pack for 2010 to overcome it. check it out I almost never run it from a Visual Studio command prompt. Vs2010 Sp1 My guess is that you will have to uninstall newer versions before upgrading the older ones to new service packs. Check out the FAQ!

Visual Studio knows all about its own installation and environment, and so there's no need to allow it to modify your machine's environment. Project "C:\Users\redfood\Documents\pcl1_7_rc1\build\CMakeFiles\CMakeTmp\cmTryCompileExec4116348285.vcxproj" on node 1 (default targets). Not the answer you're looking for? All is well.
